Years ago went to the Lenny's in Mt Airy. The Fishcakes, Pepperhash is exactly the same here! Wayne, the owner, is a great guy - and always willing to please his customers. Nice little neighborhood place to grab a quick bite (great Champ's Cherry Soda, too) chat with Wayne. If you remember Lenny's from NE or Mt Airy, you'll enjoy grabbing a bite to eat here, too!

For those of us seeking nostalgia from the Lenny's we grew up with we will find it here, but not much else. The place is very small with little to no seating. It doesn't appear to be very clean and there was no air conditioning on the day we were there. I took my fish cake and my niece took her hot dog into the car where we ate. I was glad to taste the past but I don't think I'll be returning.

I ate at Lennys back in August. To tell you the truth I was not impressed. The establishment was not up to par with cleanliness. Both hotdogs I ate were over cooked and the roll was stale. But I will give them 3 stars because it was edible and did the job!

**this review is certified not overly hungry or high, those things which tend to steer experience towards over rated... i've involved tolls and the north east extension in my desire to eat delicious hot dogs before....and somehow never managed to make it over to lenny's, a mistake that was rectified about an hour ago. (my hands still smell like chili and cheese as i type.) i was greeted when i walked in and asked what i wanted. score one for prompt customer service. i knew they had something called "sweet pepper hash" that they made themselves so the first dog i got just had that and brown mustard on it. different but good. emboldened and not turned off by the sph (what sweet pepper hash will be called on the go forward) i ordered the "lenny kravitz"; that's right the "lenny" of "lenny's hot dogs" last name is kravitz. pretty much the same as the first dog: mustard and sph with kraut and raw red onion. result: more delicious than the first. feeling like i only had room for one more i made the third a texas tommy. awesome. washed it down with the requisite "levi's champs cherry soda". good stuff. (also, it was cheap so you can try a couple and only spend ten bucks with a drink) gonna take a couple visits to sample the full scope of their offerings (crab cake on a hot dog?) but i'll definitely go back. but if you feel the wawa hot dog is the pinnacle of hot dog perfection you should probably skip this place, you're not ready to enjoy it.

Lenny's is another Philadelphia classic. There are few Philly Dads who won't remember the old Castor Avenue location fondly. The not-so-successful rebirth of the business in Feasterville, just about a mile north of the Northeast, certainly won't recreate the old Lenny's environment for any of them, but the hot dogs and fish cakes still follow the same recipe, and Philly old timers pop in and out of the place all week long, many of them wanting nothing more than to reminisce about their Castor Avenue childhoods. The secret is in the toppings. Whatever you order, order it with "the works," including plenty of brown mustard and chunky pepper hash -- a concoction few of my generation know anything about. Everything in the small hot dog joint, which can only seat maybe six people at a time -- every ingredient there is heartburn city, even for people who have trained on cheesesteaks and buffalo wings. But I actually enjoy the burning sensation from time to time. Also, Lenny's carries a great selection of locally bottled soda's like Champ Cherry, which, again, is one of those sodas that, according to my father, is leagues above those 'modern' drinks.

I remember Lenny's on Castor avenue. Great hot dogs, hot delicious I would bug my mother every day to eat them. Lenny's, Feasterville same delicious hot dog. I can agree with the other posts who did not like them so let me offer you some assistance when ordering as there are 2 different cooking styles for their hot dogs. 1. Make sure you order the boiled hot dog vs. the grilled hot dog. (my and my children's opinion these hot dogs are not tasty when grilled) 2. Order onion, spicy mustard, hash on the boiled dog with a champs cherry and you will find some flavor!

Been going here for years. I always get Hot Dog Fish Cake combo with kraut and onions. It's the best
